His hidden papers on the occult were auctioned to two private buyers in 1936 at Sotheby's, but were not available for public research until the 1990s.

    Why is it that so many of the places "abandoned" by humans on this planet are amongst the most awesomely beautiful?

      In this case, there was a technical reason, due to commuter volume and the bend of the tracks. I think they are going to turn it into a museum. Abandoned sites show that things have developed too quickly over the past two hundred years. We're changing faster than our ability to keep up with our wreckage.
